The Click and Whirr

Hey guys!

I  hope you all had a fantastic weekend! What did you get up to?

Where to start?! I have so much to post! But first, the moment I’ve kept you waiting for all weekend – the winner of the Graze giveaway! Although with all the excitement of Harry Potter, you probably forgot I was supposed to post this on Friday… right? 😉 Good!

I’m afraid I have to blame Daniel Radcliffe & Co. for the delay; I skipped off placement early to go and catch the awesomness at the Greenwich IMAX. ANYWAY…

So there were a total of 7 eligible comments, each assigned a number 1-7 in order of date posted. Random.org says…

Number 3, which was one of Anna’s comments. 🙂 Congrats Anna! Look out for my email and your nibbly delciousness will on it’s way to you soon.

I wouldn’t blame you if you’re all Harry Pottered out, so I won’t natter on about how much I enjoyed the movie. Though.. can I just mention how tasty Bill Weasley looks?! *rawr* 😉 But I want to know what YOU thought of it? Will you be seeing it again? Are you one to avoid the movies and just stick with the books?

More exciting news from the weekend – I GOT A NEW CAMERA!

I’ve been umm-ing and ahh-ing for weeks about which one to buy; whether to go for a compact system digital or a D-SLR, which brand, which model, how much I could realistically afford (errr, realistically? None of them!). It’s all a bit complicated! It came down to a toss up between Sony and Canon (thanks for the recommendation, Hope!) but the models I was deciding between were quite comparable entry-level cameras. Then a recommendation for the Sony alpha a500 caught my eye, and I discovered it was only £50 more. I think insanity got the better of me because I’m now the proud owner of one! Blurry photos will be a thing of the past… once I’ve read the manual!

As I mentioned in the-post-that-got-eaten, my appetite is somewhat lacking since I started on the antidepressants. This is a miserable state of affairs for someone who loves taking photos of her food! I’ve been eating much less, and enjoying it less than before. As a result I’ve been taking barely any photos, and doing barely any blogging. This has to change! No better time than the present…

Yoghurt mess featuring…

  • Yeo Valley Organic ‘Apple Flapjack’ Yogurt
  • sliced banana
  • mixed raisins
  • All Bran cereal
  • omega sprinkle
  • flaked almonds
  • Jordan’s Truly Fruity Tropical Muesli
  • … and a smidge of PB to go with the banana!

I have to admit, I’m not a big fan of yoghurt. I go through phases of buying some because I fancy it, only to get bored with it quickly. I occasionally top my yoghurt with fruit, muesli or granola but mostly stick to it plain from the pot! However, ‘yoghurt mess’ seems to be a popular breakfast amongst bloggers so I thought I’d give it a try, particularly as I had this rather large pot to get through…

Apple Flapjack!

It’s a limited edition flavour that really tempted my tastebuds – apple, oats and golden syrup, mmmm! Yesterday was the trial run of the infamous yoghurt mess, but with blueberries rather than banana. The blueberries went better with the flavour of the yoghurt but banana is pretty good too! I’m not a total convert, but it’s certainly made yoghurt a bit more appealing to me 🙂

I’ve only had a snack since breakfast, but what better to hit the spot than a Clif Bar?

Our local Waitrose has recently taken to stocking a couple of new flavours! It’s all very exciting… I picked up a Chocolate Chip flavour – I think I like it better than the Crunchy Peanut Butter one?! I didn’t think that was possible! But they’re so damn expensive (£1.49 each)… I need a Clif Bar Fairy for Christmas, who can magic them up with her wand!

What would you like for Christmas?

    YAY! Thank you!

Bill Weasley was foxy! I wish they had Charlie Weasley though. I imagined him as foxy.

  2. Hope says:

    Yay for new cameras!!
I’m not really a yoghurt convert, I wish that I was! I really want to like it, but I just dont haha!
Thanks for your comment on my blog today too, been a sucky one, but I appreciate the support xx 🙂

    • Oh man, I’m having so much fun playing with it!
Shall we just lie low and form the ‘less than enthusiastic about yoghurt club’? I bet we’re not the only ones
And you’re welcome, I hope things are looking up xxx

  3. Miri says:

Yay for Harry Potter and a new camera! I haven’t seen HP yet, and I can’t wait to see it! I want to watch the most recent movies so I remember where they left off… I have such a bad memory.

I haven’t actually thought of what I want for Christmas. Sad, I know! At this point, sleep sounds like the best gift anyone could give me. Haha!

    • I hope when you see it you enjoy it 🙂 My memory is bad too, but I think it makes it more interesting to watch ’cause you don’t remember what’s coming.
I hope Santa brings you some sleep! Some good sleep makes everything better, and I feel for you – sometimes the simplest things are the best. 😀 xxx

  4. That pesky Daniel Radcliffe *tsk* 🙂
I love the Yeo Valley yoghurt; have you tried the vanilla? Yum.
I’m with Miri on the sleep for Christmas, although there’s a lovely pair of Aldo boots I’ve got my eye on…!
    How are you feeling?

    • Hehehe! Young men these days… such a distraction 😉
I have to say I’m not a huge fan of the vanilla – when it comes to vanilla I’m a die-hard Rachael’s Organic fan! I find it’s got the perfect creaminess.
Oooh Aldo boots. I hope they turn up in your stocking!
Feeling pretty good, I’ll *hopefully* get a chance to update about that soon! Thanks so much for asking, it’s very thoughtful of you. 🙂
      xxx
